Grailbox, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) makes the Cryptic Themes app and this website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The Short Version

We do not sell your information. Ever. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with advertisers or data brokers. We collect only what we need to run the game and provide the features you use.

Information We Collect

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and name.
• Gameplay data. Puzzle progress, results, and statistics so we can save your games and, for Pro subscribers, track your statistics.
• Subscription status. Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation of your subscription status, but we never receive or store your payment card details.
• Technical data. Like most online services, our servers automatically record basic information such as IP address, device type, operating system, app version, and request times. We use this to keep the service running, secure, and free of bugs.

How We Use Information

• To create and manage your account
• To provide puzzles, save your progress, and show your statistics
• To verify subscriptions and unlock Pro features
• To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the game
• To respond to you when you contact us

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

• With our hosting provider, which stores data on our behalf and may use it only to provide services to us
• With Apple or Google as needed to process purchases
• When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or Grailbox, LLC

When you choose to share puzzle results or statistics on social media or messaging, you control what is shared and with whom. Information you post publicly is governed by the policies of the service you share it on.

Data Retention

We keep information only as long as we need it to provide the service or meet legal obligations. Server logs are deleted on a regular basis.

Your Choices and Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your information, including deleting your account, at any time by emailing support@grailbox.com. See Delete Your Account for how to delete your account. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Users in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom

If you are in the EEA or UK, Grailbox, LLC is the controller of your personal data. We process your data on these legal bases:

• Contract: to provide your account, puzzles, statistics, and subscription features
• Legitimate interests: to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems
• Legal obligation: when the law requires us to keep or disclose information

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your data, and to receive a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise these rights, email support@grailbox.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We are based in the United States, and your information is processed there. When we transfer personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by law.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

Children’s Privacy

Cryptic Themes is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
